Minerva Research Labs promoted its drinkable collagen – Pure Gold Collagen – at the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine’s 20th World Conference of Aesthetic Medicine in Miami, FL, which ended on November 15th. 

The product was developed to nourish the skin from the inside out, targeting visible signs of aging associated with collagen loss.

Medical advisor Martin Godfrey, M.D., Minerva’s head of R&D, presented the company’s findings during a lecture about how specifically hydrolysed collagen works to counteract signs of aging.

The product claims to increase smoothness and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in six weeks. It uses marine collagen protein, derived from farm raised tilapia that is rich in amino acids, glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, which are easily absorbed by the body. Once consumed, the collagen is distributed to the dermis via the blood stream and results in multiplication and stimulation of fibroblast cells (collagen-making cells in the connective tissue of the skin), to produce more collagen and hyaluronic acid.

The UK-based company has conducted in-house clinical trials and scientific research projects in Europe, while collaborating with dermatologists and aesthetic medicine specialists around the world.
